Student of Integrity ScholarshipsThe BBB is proud to offer an annual scholarship program recognizing Students of Integrity. These scholarships are designed to recognize and promote ethics and integrity among young people. The BBB will award scholarships to graduating high school seniors who personify all of the best aspects of high character in their personal choices and actions. Scholarship money is awarded directly toward winners’ post-secondary education expenses (tuition or room/board only) at any accredited institution.
Students are asked to read and consider the 20 principles found on the document entitled UncommonSense and select one or more of the principles and write an essay that gives a specific, personal example of how s/he was challenged or struggled through a difficult situation and how s/he overcame the situation by the application of high character and personal ethics. The essay must be 1,000 words or less. The essay must be accompanied by the scholarship entry form, one letter of recommendation, a copy of high school transcripts, a list of extracurricular activities and post-secondary plans.
Entries will be reviewed by an independent panel of judges and judging will be based mainly on the content of the essay, although academic transcripts, one reference letter and outside activities may also be used by the judges in making their final decisions.
Applications and essays will be accepted only from Minnesota and North Dakota high school students who will be seniors in the 2012-2013 school year.
All written entries must be received no later than Friday, September 21, 2012 by 4:00 PM.
